Spotl1ght Communications has been retained to drive the UK public relations campaign for luxury expedition line PONANT.
The agency will be responsible for the promotion of the luxury mariner through media and influencer relations, as the company continues to consolidate its brand awareness and positioning across the UK market.
Created in 1988, by officers of the French Merchant Navy, PONANT has created a new style of marine exploration, through a unique conception of sea travel and a commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism.

SPOTL1GHT will be responsible for promoting PONANT, its young fleet of small ships and its network of expeditions exploring off the beaten track journeys and ports, while increasing awareness of the brand’s off-peak seasonal offerings, and highlighting the itineraries as enticing and desirable for a variety of travellers.

PONANT embraces its spirit of innovation by embarking on its inaugural voyage on 6 March 2025, sailing ahead of any other ship, offering 13 departures over 7 varied itineraries, including 2 new routes to explore the Great North.
Le Commandant Charcot provides the opportunity of a lifetime as it navigates deep into the ice during the late winter season.
The smaller sizes of expedition ships afford access to remote destinations and areas, meaning that these remote Arctic points are unreachable by any other vessel at this time of the year.
Pioneering a new era of sustainable cruising, the launch of Le Commandant Charcot not only provides an unparalleled experience for guests onboard but it also allows PONANT to deliver necessary supplies to the local people of the region, meaning they can emerge from their winter earlier than usual and have their essentials replenished.
Furthermore, for 2024, PONANT will continue to lead the way with shore-side power connection in ports.
Since installing the PONANT Explorer series in 2022, Le Bellot has made port calls at Hafnarfjörur, Iceland, where the engines are turned off, and the ship connects seamlessly to the port’s energy network.
