Between February and April 2025, Seabourn Sojourn will travel to Morocco and the Canary Islands on four voyages, ranging from seven to 14 days, which take guests on journeys to the heart of the world, where the history of this region is shown through the seamless blend of diverse cultures. The region offers a legendary geological and ecological diversity of islands that vary from arid climates and volcanoes to subtropical rainforests. Notable port highlights include the following:
El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain- The smallest and westernmost of the Canary Islands, El Hierro is a rugged, windswept place known for its iconic juniper trees, twisted in the winds of time. These winds are harnessed into the main source of energy and life for the island, making El Hierro the first completely self-sufficient island powered by sustainable energy.
Casablanca, Morocco – Morocco’s largest city and main commercial hub fuses Arab-Muslim heritage and colonial influences with a bold modernity. Guests can explore the delights of the city through featured excursion, Magical Marrakech Experience, which explores an oasis city steeped in Berber culture, featuring landmarks such as the Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Museum.
To provide easy booking, with Seabourn most Mediterranean and Northern Europe voyages feature inclusive economy air from London and select regional airports, together with complimentary transfers between the airport and ship and in case of an airline delay or cancellation, next port protection. Guests may upgrade to inclusive business class air on request.
Seabourn, the leader in ultra-luxury voyages and expedition travel, and renowned for creating exquisitely designed spaces aboard its ships that exemplify themes of exploration and adventure, has unveiled an extraordinary collection of custom art on board Seabourn Pursuit, its newly launched, purpose-built expedition vessel. The extensive, permanent installation includes more than 700 artworks and takes guests on a curated journey across the seven seas.
Seabourn’s expedition vessels, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, bear strong resemblance as sister ships that share the same DNA in design. However, art stands out as one of the most prominent and character-defining points of differentiation between them. Commissioned by Seabourn design partner, Tihany Design, led by Founder & Principal Adam D. Tihany and Partner Alessia Genova, the atelier engaged London-based curatorial studio Double Decker to develop a sophisticated, thoughtful and bespoke art collection exclusively for Seabourn Pursuit, as a completely unique, curatorial expression of the designers’ vision: “an expedition of discoveries.” It features custom art that masterfully celebrates the wonders of our planet and the great explorers of our time, infused with geographic inspiration. By intention, the result—bold, more colourful and playful with a modern attitude—markedly contrasts with the more subtle, sophisticated storytelling of Seabourn Venture’s art program by French studio Atelier 27.
Working with artists, designers and fabricators globally to conjure the vision and tell these stories, Double Decker co-directors Wilhelm Finger and Melita Skamnaki pursued elegant yet brave works that create a sense of connection with those who sailed before, to enhance the guests’ own sense of discovery in the present moment. With hundreds of pieces on board, each conjuring a unique experience and connection with its surroundings, art invites passengers to be curious and treats them to powerful and unforgettable visual adventures along Seabourn Pursuit’s dramatic routes. The ship itself has emerged as a new frontier of appreciation for art enthusiasts at sea.
“We had a vision to deliver a dynamic and harmonious experience of exploration by creating a unique synergy to unite the masterful interior design by Tihany Design and the bespoke art collection with the powerful, state-of-the-art capabilities on this purpose-built luxury expedition ship,” said Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn. “As a result, our guests will experience an unexpected layer of imaginative discoveries and be inspired by the smallest details, symbols, hidden messages in every corner to provoke a deep sense of personal exploration and appreciation. Seabourn Pursuit’s art collection will elevate the onboard experience as guests embark on their own journey to interact with new environments that in some cases no humans have seen before.”
Among the many works and themes to captivate and catch the eyes of Seabourn Pursuit guests:
Magical Sky(Deck 4 – Main Atrium) – Sculpture installation exclusively commissioned for Seabourn Pursuit, this captivating piece was envisioned and designed by curator Double Decker. inspired by their impression of the sky’s alluring shapes and colours visible along the ship’s journeys. The concave dome atop a plinth invites passengers to look inside and discover multiple layers and reflections within, connecting them in an abstract yet moving way to the sky under which they travel. Produced by custom fabricator Cory Barr.
DOUBLE DECKER 2023
Water Drops(Deck 9 – Forward Stairs) – Newly commissioned pieces in a series featuring Murano blown glass from Milan-based 6:AM Glassworks bear the feelings of water, sea and ice.
6:AM GLASSWORKS 2023
0° SERIES (Deck 4 – The Restaurant) – Stunning photographic collection showcases tropical flowers in ice to create unexpected, enchanting dialogue between Amazonian flora and Polar ice. Together with artist Tharien Smith, Boyd’s extremely elaborate technique freezes flower arrangements in blocks of ice; after several days, they are put into rivers or lakes, and the process causes cracks and bubbles to form inside the ice blocks, the flowers part of an active transformation. Only then do Boyd and Smith begin taking photos. Randomness, intention, enchanting beauty and dynamic unpredictability are at play.
BRUCE BOYD 2023
Oscillation (Deck 5 – Colonnade) – Renowned South African artist Chris Soal created the wall sculpture Oscillation as a sustainable work comprised of metal bottle tops, coiled in a rope-like pattern, and expanding out from a central point. From afar, this work has a strong luxury and design aesthetic, which becomes tactile as the viewer moves closer to discover its surprising details.
CHRIS SOAL 2023
Harvest (Deck 5 – Colonnade) – Italian painter Gabriel Carucci encourages more discovery with seemingly simple, geometric block patterns, revealing on closer inspection carefully selected sections of intricate embroidery and other whimsical textile elements, creating subtle tonal shifts. Tessellations of flat tints of colour occupy the surface of the paintings, merging with forms of intertwined threads giving rise to abstract motions. The labour-intensive nature of this practice deliberately evokes visual cues that direct the painted surface and subsequently the viewer’s perception.
GABRIEL CARUCCI 2023
Amazônia (Deck 6 – Seabourn Square) – Exclusively commissioned for Seabourn Pursuit, the acrylic paintings of celebrated Brazilian artist James Kudo depict architectural spaces, animals, flora and fauna, in a vivid palette of acrylic paint. Composed of cleanly delineated forms, from a distance these pieces appear graphic, yet on closer inspection they unveil a painterly texture.
JAMES KUDO 2023
Canyon Fall II (Deck 6 – Seabourn Square) – Celebrated London-based sculptor Joseph Harrington, created this cast glass sculpture to evoke an iceberg with brilliant intricacies within, to delight and intrigue the viewer, allowing texture, light and sense of mass to continuously play.
JOSEPH HARRINGTON 2022
Blue & Green Anthropophora (Deck 9 – Sky Bar) – Created from glazed stoneware with PVC rubber coating, this artwork presents a bold colour and bulbous, textural style that grounds us back in the world of contemporary art. It plays its own game, mimicking the forms of ancient artefacts, such as a Greek amphora.
MAXWELL MUSTARDO 2022
Beyond the Sky (Deck 9 – Constellation Lounge) — Up-and-coming artist Sogon Kim created twin glass pieces Beyond the Sky to reflect sea and sky. Incorporating silver leaf and metal oxides, this work explores glass as a conduit for colour and light.
SOGON KIM 2022
Artifacts Collection (Seabourn Square and Suites) – An eclectic, mesmerizing collection that evokes unique wondrous wildlife and natural phenomena unearthed by pioneering expeditions.
Etched Glass Mural Partitions (Expedition Lounge) –This set of commissioned glass installations – Amazonian Moon and Arctic Moon – celebrates the moon’s resonating beauty, magic, and enduring presence in night skies from the Amazon to the Arctic. Panels feature etched glass textures, coloured glass, special finishes of gold and silver leaf, and the moon depicted in 3D with flower and silver-infused glass.
Graphic Glass Panels (Atrium Staircase) – Inspired by the winding coastlines of Seabourn destinations. Commissioned to re-interpret the natural coastal geography seen on the vessel’s voyages.

Within a few steps, guests can be outside, with an ideal vantage point for viewing the ship’s course, spotting wildlife, or taking in natural scenery.
The Bow Lounge has several technological enhancements, including touch screens that show the ship’s plotted location, and navigational charts and scientific information used to guide its journey. Expedition Team members are available for interaction within The Bow Lounge throughout the day, and the space also provides direct access to the Bow Sprit on Deck 6 forward (conditions permitting), giving guests the sensation of standing in front of the ship and views of waves parting and ice sloughing at the waterline. The “Pantry in The Bow Lounge,” one of eight dining experiences on Seabourn Pursuit, allows guests to help themselves to freshly prepared light fare and refreshments as they scan the horizon and socialise.
The Constellation Lounge
Located on Deck 9 forward, the Constellation Lounge is the highest indoor viewing point on the ship, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that deliver stunning 270-degree, outward-facing views while heightening the expeditionary spirit of guests by bringing them closer to natural wonders in transit and at port. The Constellation Lounge is a setting for Seabourn’s elevated Afternoon Tea service, and live piano entertainment accompanied by cocktails and tapas before and after dinner service.
The Club and the Sky Bar
An idyllic setting on the stern of Deck 9 for guests to mix and mingle, eat and drink, and enjoy music, The Club features expansive windows, making it an ideal spot to watch scenery and wildlife. The lounge includes “Sushi in The Club,” an extraordinary culinary experience offering a variety of hand-prepared sushi bites freshly made to order every evening. A sushi chef is stationed behind a stone-topped, wood-and-antique-mirrored counter, serving fresh sushi bites and unique sake offerings. Along with sushi and sake, The Club offers custom-crafted cocktails and fine wines at cocktail hour, and live music before and after dinner.
Meanwhile, out on the aft deck, The Sky Bar serves drinks over a panelled teak bar, and two whirlpools are available for guests to enjoy soothing dips at each corner of the deck, providing dramatic views of the surrounding environment.

A must on every globetrotter’s list, there are few places on earth that can rival Antarctica when it comes to incredible wildlife and scenery. Guests will be accompanied by the veteran Expedition Team, who in many cases have made Antarctica the focus of their life’s work with some having visited Antarctica up to 60 times. Guests can see penguins, whales and other diverse wildlife, kayak around icebergs and massive glaciers, hike along the majestic continent and see the wonders of Antarctica up close. Robin West,Vice President of Expedition Operations and Planning forSeabourn, says “During Seabourn Venture’s Antarctica season, guests and crew members spotted hundreds of thousands of penguins, blue and humpback whales, and albatrosses. Killer whales have even surrounded the vessel during previous Antarctica voyages. Plus, guests have spotted a Ross Seal, the rarest of four seal species in the Antarctic and A Minke whale made a surprise appearance during an expedition swimming right next to kayakers in Antarctica.”
13-Day Antarctica Explorationon board Seabourn Venture starts from £11,499 per person, based on sharing a Veranda Suite. Departing on 27 November 2023 from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Amazon, South America
During Seabourn’s expeditions in the Amazon River, guests can experience three major regions including the Flooded Forests and Blackwater Tributaries, The Frontier Amazon, and The Peruvian Amazon with each region offering a new unique environment. With limited road access, the best way to explore this fascinating destination is via Seabourn’s zodiacs which carry guests along scenic passages through the jungled-draped channels giving guests a unique perspective on the rainforest itself and on the lives of those who make it their home. Take in the natural beauty of the flora and fauna as you share space with sloths, howler monkeys and freshwater fishes. Alexandra Edwards, Lecturer reflects on a past zodiac excursion in the Amazon: “Together with the calm waters’ stillness and the jungle’s lively sounds, this made for an awe-inspiring combination. Added to that was the sighting of 43 different bird species in a two-hour period. It was a truly majestic experience. Most memorable were the Hoatzin with their spiky, rufous crests, perched unassumingly below the canopy, and a pair of Scarlet Macaws that flew over as if surveying their domain.”
The tiny island of Staffa, part of the Inner Hebrides, is celebrated for its stunning geology, fauna and flora and variety of seabirds. During spring and early summer, Staffa’s cliffs and grassy slopes provide hundreds of nesting sites for various seabirds including guillemots, razorbills, and puffins. The best time to see puffins is during the breeding season between May and start of August when the birds have their distinctive colourful beaks that they’re known for. In addition to the rich seabird life, guests can discover spectacular wildlife beneath the waves including dolphins, porpoises and, in the summer months, minke and fin whales. Plus, if visiting at low tide, guests may also be able to explore the famous Fingal’s Cave, the cavernous opening that goes deep inside the island…Toby Musgrave, Lecturer, says:“A highlight from the waters of Staffa is watching a good number of Atlantic Puffins as they float in ‘rafts’ on the water, flapped industriously around in the air, and perched on the grassy clifftops. Most humorous is watching them ‘crash’-land near their burrows (in which are laid the egg and the chick raised) in an ungainly convolution of legs, wings, and multi-coloured beak.”

Elephant Island, Antarctica
Just over 150 miles north of the frozen tundra of Antarctica lies a tiny ice-covered, mountainous island called Elephant Island. A narrow, rugged island – early sealers named it for the abundance of elephant seals on the island’s shores, but nowadays most of the accessible shoreline is occupied by a large colony of chinstrap penguins, although elephant seals and Antarctic fur seals can also be found here. It is the perfect destination to escape into utter wilderness. Brandon Kleyn, Naturalist, says: “On the way to Elephant Island, those around and awake are spoilt with breathtaking views of O’Brien, Aspland and Gibbs Islands. As Seabourn Venture comes around Cornwallis Island, guests, and guides alike can be lucky enough to witness between 50 and 100 fin whales gorging on krill; what a sight to behold! In addition to the fin whales, there are rafts of Chinstrap and Gentoo Penguins and multiple birds, including albatross, fulmars, gulls, Giant Petrels and many more.”
