Wonderful views and a welcoming atmosphere

Every one of our modern river cruise ships has all the facilities and touches you would expect and they all offer outside cabins, meaning you will always have a view of the beautiful scenery outside your window or balcony. In the spacious public areas you will find enough seating to be sociable, or enough space for some time on your own. The deckchairs and awnings of the sundecks offer beautiful views of the water and surroundings, while in the Panoramic Restaurants, we offer culinary delights combined with equally spectacular views. Enjoy outstanding cuisine as we serve you in style at your table with multi-course menus at lunchtime and dinner, along with themed buffets to match your travel route.

The right ship for every taste.

From classic maritime to modern and elegant, the size of your river ship depends on the nautical characteristics of the river you will be cruising. As a matter of principle, every vessel in the nicko fleet is maintained to a high standard, but there are slight differences in facilities and atmosphere depending on the cruising area and technical requirements. Either way, you are still afforded the typical nicko cruises experience.

Luxurious cabins and classic style

Whether you anticipate spending most of your time away from your cabin or you want to enjoy a beautiful view and feel the fresh wind on your face, every nicko river cruise ship has a cabin category to suit your taste. The main deck on almost all our ships is the most reasonably priced cabin category, where amenities, size and therefore comfort are mostly the same as those on the upper decks, although the windows cannot be opened and they are often a little smaller. Alternatively our middle and upper-deck cabins have large panoramic windows that can be opened, floor-to-ceiling French balconies, or even your own private balcony. Our ships are designed for 50-125 passengers and radiate a distinctive charm. On board you’ll feel as though you are in a large floating Grand Hotel, accompanied by a friendly crew who will quickly make you feel at home. Gold and brass decorations emphasise the beauty of the ships, while restaurants featuring brightly coloured glass ceiling lights, dark wood decorations, stucco ceilings and curved chair backs bring a touch of elegance. Light, panoramic salons provide an inviting space to sit and relax in cosy sofas and armchairs, while on many ships wellness areas are available for relaxing in and the libraries are ready to inspire you.

Mornings – A great start to the day

To ensure you get a healthy start our kitchen prepares an extensive breakfast buffet using only the freshest ingredients. Help yourself to juices, coffee and tea and whatever takes your fancy, while for early risers, many of our ships also offer an early-bird breakfast, with a selection of tasty treats.

Midday – As the mood takes you

A multi-course course lunch is served in the panorama restaurant, or for a lighter lunch enjoy a buffet-style menu in the salon. The decision is yours and you can change as the moods suits each day – it’s entirely up to you. Depending on your daily programme, we also serve delicious cakes from our ship’s patisserie in the panorama salon in the afternoon, these are freshly made on a daily basis.

Evenings. Dining in a festive atmosphere

In the evening we spoil you with sophisticated menus and excellent wines. Of course, you have the choice of fine wines from the respective region and the most popular wine-growing regions worldwide. Our kitchen is happy to take into account any dietary requirements and depending on the evening programme, we also serve a midnight snack. Our fabulous gala dinner is the culinary highlight of your cruise. On this special evening the captain and his crew invite you to a special reception, where they will raise a toast to you and your cruise, after which, your gala dinner will be served.

At the core of every nicko river cruise is an immersive programme of shore excursions, each of which has carefully been chosen to bring the best out of every destination you will be visiting. Your package includes the key excursions for each trip and by adding on optional excursion or by exploring yourself you can design your very own travel experience, turning your cruise into a nature, culture and city holiday that has been tailored especially for you. Perfectly organised and top-quality, our excursions are exciting, entertaining and will give you plenty of lasting memories.

It’s best organised as a package

Our experts have put together the key highlights of each cruise into an attractive package of four excursions that are included in the price of your cruise, but we also offer a range of optional land excursions that can be booked once you’re on board the ship. Our cruise management office will be happy to advise you on this and they will also have plenty of insider tips for your own personal shore leave, should you wish to explore any destination at leisure.

Easy listening

On almost all excursions you will receive state-of-the-art, comfortable Sennheiser audio systems to use for free. The receiver and earphones are as light as a feather and make it possible to choose the distance you want to be from the tour guide without missing valuable information. They are easy to use and you can set the volume yourself. They can also comfortably be used with a hearing aid/device.
