This July, with Hebridean Island Cruises, island hop through the Hebrides on a magical ‘Pedal the Hebrides’ cruise that visits six islands, each with its own distinct character and atmosphere, from the white shell sands of Barra, the stunning scenery of the Uists, the Isle of Harris with its spectacular stones of Callanish, and the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Trotternish Peninsula on Skye.
Each day, guests onboard the Hebridean Princess can choose to join a guided cycle ride ranging from between 18 miles and 43 miles and led by Zoë Westerman, an experienced cycling guide who is also a British cycling coach and a seasoned endurance cyclist.

Alternatively, they can enjoy a more leisurely exploration and join enriching excursions that delve into the rich history and heritage of these remarkable islands.
The cycling itinerary takes in parts of the Hebridean Way, a spectacular scenic walking and cycling trail through the Outer Hebrides that traverses 10 islands. Highlights include:
- Barra: a circular ride that reveals sweeping white beaches, rugged inland scenery and the island’s unique beach airport.
- South and North Uist: a full day ride that uncovers striking contrasts: the soft, rolling terrain of South Uist feels a world away from North Uist’s low-lying bird haven, where green-blue lochans shimmer across the landscape.
- Isle of Harris and Isle of Lewis: from Harris, cycle through traditional crofting and weaving communities, to its flatter, more fertile neighbour, Lewis. Here, a circular route takes in ancient monuments and far-reaching coastal views.
- Isle of Skye: an invigorating ride through the dramatic and otherworldly rock formations of the Quiraing on the Trotternish Peninsula, before rejoining the ship in the colourful harbour town of Portree.
The seven-night cruise departs 7th July 2026 and is a round trip from Oban with calls in Castlebay, Barra; Loch Boisdale, South Uist; Lochmaddy, North Uist; Tarbert, Isle of Harris; Stornoway, Isle of Lewis; Uig, Isle of Skye; Portree, Isle of Skye; and Armadale, Isle of Skye.
The cruise takes place onboard the 48-guest Hebridean Princess, an iconic vessel which was twice chartered by Queen Elizabeth II for private family holidays.

The ship is the epitome of understated elegance, combining the atmosphere of a fine country house hotel with a renowned level of service and attention to detail, top class dining and knowledgeable onboard guides.
Prices – which are discounted by 20% – start from £5,904 per person including all meals and drinks, all guided cycle rides and shore excursions, use of bicycles, gratuities, WiFi, private coach transfers between the local airport or train station and the shipor secure parking at the port.
