Hebridean Island Cruises’ fleet comprises three small ships, each dedicated to providing the finest Scottish holidays afloat:

  • The 48-guest Hebridean Princess is an iconic vessel which was twice chartered by Queen Elizabeth II for private family holidays. The ship is the epitome of understated elegance, combining the atmosphere of a fine country house hotel with a renowned level of service and attention to detail, top class dining and knowledgeable onboard guides.
  • Purpose-built to transit the historic locks of the Caledonian Canal and following a multi-million pound rebuild over the last couple of years, the 38-guest Lord of the Highlands is the latest addition to the fleet. With rich hardwood finishes offset by cream panelling, Lord of the Highlands is reminiscent of a Pullman carriage from the golden age and the size of the ship ensures a relaxed house party atmosphere. The elevated upper deck affords spectacular views as guest dine in the Caledonian Restaurant or relax in the Panorama Lounge with a drink from the well-stocked bar.
  • Feeling like a private yacht, the 50-guest Lord of the Glens offers the perfect way to explore Scotland’s Highlands and coastal islands in the relaxing atmosphere of a stately manor house. Its elegant appeal embraces a classical, timeless style with polished wood and teak decks, gourmet cuisine and exceptional personal service.

Hebridean Island Cruises’ 2026 season commences in March and here’s a brief overview:

  • Hebridean Princess will offer voyages ranging from four to nine nights in her home Scottish waters, including the most northerly outposts of Orkney and Shetland, as well as occasional forays over the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man to explore the diversity of these Gaelic neighbours. Departures are available from Greenock, Oban or Invergordon. The 2026 season also boasts an enticing array of themed cruises, catering to diverse interests such as golf, lighthouses, nature and wildlife, art and architecture, wine and food, gardens, cycling, and walking. Select cruises will feature distinguished guest speakers, including travel writer Simon Calder and nature presenter Kate Humble.

2026 sees the introduction of four brand new theme cruises: an enthralling wildlife cruise to Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, a new itinerary to the lush spring gardens of Argyll and Antrim, a lighthouse themed cruise and a golf cruise playing a number of maiden courses.

  • Lord of the Highlands will sail regular transits through the intricate inland waterways of the Caledonian Canal and the idyllic Inner Hebrides, as well as two enthralling adventures to the northern outposts of Orkney. Themed cruises will focus on wildlife, historic Scottish castles, walking and the very best of Highland food and drink. Guests can also look forward to engaging presentations from acclaimed guest speakers, including former BBC news presenter Michael Buerk.
  • Lord of the Glens will continue to primarily serve the groups and private charter market, but a limited number of sailings are available for general sale. Its six and seven-night itineraries both feature a full transit of the iconic Caledonian Canal, alongside captivating excursions to Oban and the Isle of Mull. Seven-night voyages further extend to include the Isle of Skye, Inverie and the legendary Eilean Donan Castle.
