Virgin Voyages is celebrating the explosive success of its inaugural Olas de Fuego: Nicky Jam x Virgin Voyages sailing, which brought a wave of Latin music, culture and high-octane energy to Valiant Lady.

Sailing round trip from San Juan, Puerto Rico, the voyage (Dec. 5-13, 2025) drew a vibrant mix of Sailors — many traveling from across Latin America and Spain — who turned the ship into a floating celebration of Latin pride and rhythm.

During the eight-night celebration, Sailors explored Curaçao, Aruba, Dominica, Antigua and St. Maarten, returning each evening to a ship pulsing with live performances, DJ sets, dance parties, culinary moments and cultural programming that brought Latin flair to every corner of the vessel.

With six artists handpicked by Nicky Jam, plus intimate performances and high-energy experiences shared across the ship, the voyage delivered one of the most dynamic atmospheres Virgin Voyages has experienced at sea.

“Olas de Fuego was a reflection of who we are, our culture, our rhythm and the love we share through music,” said Nicky Jam.

“Seeing so many Latinos and people from around the world vibing together on the ship made this experience unforgettable. It felt like family out there. I could hang with fans, talk to the Crew and even play basketball before the show. Those are things I never get to do at big concerts. Virgin Voyages helped bring my vision to life in a way I’ll never forget.”

Each night, Valiant Lady transformed as Sailors danced under the stars, sang along to reggaeton classics and discovered rising Latin artists including DJ Bash, Carmen DeLeon, Mati Gómez, Vlair, RoyalLive and Shadia Maraby.

The energy carried throughout the ship, from packed performances to spontaneous dance moments sparked by Sailors vibing to the Latin beats, along with immersive cultural happenings hosted throughout the voyage.

Sailors also enjoyed Nicky Jam’s favorite La Industria Bakery pancakes, adding a personal touch from his own life to the onboard experience.

“The vibe onboard was electric, unlike anything we’ve done before,” said Jamie Douglas, Director of Fleet Experience at Virgin Voyages.

“Every venue, every deck and every port stop felt alive. The music, the artists and the Sailors created a community that celebrated Latin culture in the most beautiful way. We’re incredibly excited to partner with more Latin artists in the future.”

The success of Olas de Fuego underscores Virgin Voyages’ commitment to developing deeper, culturally resonant programming that brings travelers into the heart of global music, art and storytelling.

Building on this momentum, Virgin Voyages will expand its immersive offerings in 2026 with a collaboration with Nile Rodgers and CHIC for the brand’s Red Hot Sailing Club Voyage, along with special eclipse sailings featuring astronomy-inspired programming and celestial celebrations at sea.

“We’re proud to be creating voyages that feel personal, meaningful and immersive. Olas de Fuego set a new standard and we can’t wait to show Sailors what’s next,” Douglas added.
